Surrounded by 29 extremely private acres on a wooded mountain, Sanctuaire is a quarter century dream in the making. The owner has salvaged beautiful architectural items from San Francisco Victorians, collected high quality antiques and, with superb attention to detail, integrated them into an open-beamed lodge to create an artistic expression of the highest order. This house is such a work of art that it was featured in the New York Times, Sept. 2005. The living room is partially open to the kitchen, and has a dining area. Off the living room, there's a large, wrap-around deck with loungers and outdoor dining. Down a short hall, there's one bedroom with its own deck and bathroom. Downstairs, at ground level, there's a den with gas fireplace that opens to a small patio, a bathroom and another bedroom with another covered patio. The garden, pool, hot tub and pond are in a large, sunny clearing in front of the house. There's a trail down to the creek and swimming hole.

"We had a magical time in Sanctuaire, everything was perfect. Both of our kids wanted to stay much longer, and they were not alone in that wish! The weather was wonderful, the bugs do not bite, we saw some wonderful wildlife, and we enjoyed a few wonderful meals at River's End. We all really appreciated the beautiful furniture and thoughtful touches. Great quality cookware was so wonderful! We can't wait to come back."
