Drove out to the coast today to deliver Russian River Getaways rack cards to the Sonoma Coast Visitors Center. What a lovely drive with sparkling sun due to a brisk wind. While there picked up a card for the Bodega Country Store, so decided to drive the extra five miles to Bodega. This is famous for Hitchcock's film "The Birds," and it is now a charming block of shops, including the Country Store, which has a large collection of Hitchcock memorabilia and a marvelous array of freshly made food. I bought some crab mac 'n cheese, red clam chowder, corn bread, and a sweet something. Definitely worth a stop while out at the coast. Just wish they had leash-free beaches there as we do on the river. My dogs were quite excited to smell the sea air, but there was no place to let them run.
