http://www.stewardsofthecoastandredwood ... lwatch.htm. After we'd had our fill of staring at those mesmerizing waves, we stopped at Cafe Aquatica, http://www.cafeaquatica.com/, in Jenner, for coffee, a great view of the Russian River flowing into the ocean, and live music on deck. In other words, we had ourselves a perfect Sunday afternoon! -Rachel

But what was great was Chuck Mead's band which headlined Loretta Lynn. These are pure classic rock-a-belly sons---absolutety fantastic and I want to go see them as the headliner. I think I'll see if they have an on-line calendar and maybe are playing closeby.

A fabulous day trip to the only building in the United States designed by Hundertwasser. It's Quixote Winery and such a perfect building I've never before seen. Absolutely worth the drive---the only way to see it is to sign up for a winetasting tour at $25 each; otherwise, they would be inundated with Hundertwasser groupies. Makes me think I would like to do a Hundertwasser tour of his buildings in Europe.

The lovely lady in costume is Jane Barry, president of the Russian River Historical Society. The tour was most interesting, with emphasis on pioneer women. One such woman was Inza Lambert (still an important local family) who was born in Duncans Mills, belonged to every possible organization, drove the Gas Truck when needed during World War II, and if there was no pastor at the Guerneville Community Church, she stood up and gave the service.
The boy's headstone above commemorates 7 year old Harry Olney who ran onto Main Street and was hit by the justice of the peace driving his car, the lad becoming the first vehicular death in west Sonoma County.
A lovely afternoon, after the tour viewing the new part of the cemetery with its AIDS section and unique headstones. A cemetery definitely worth spending some time in.
