Location:
Inn Kohutes sits on two gated acres of spectacular hillside redwood forest, fronting its own winter creek (Kohutes Creek). Surrounded by pristine redwood forest with no homes in sight or sound, this beautiful home has an equally beautiful --and secluded-- setting, yet is also light and airy due to walls of glass and a sunny clearing where the private road passes in front of the home. Kohutes Creek runs along the edge of the property. In summer this creekbed provides a short access path to year-round Austin Creek, a great play area for dogs and children, with excellent hiking up and down the creek.
House:
Inn Kohutes provides a cabin ambiance with luxurious B&B type beds and all the amenities: wireless high-speed Internet, large hot tub, hammock, and a separate reading/playroom as well as a loft play space. The living room includes two window walls, a comfortable leather couch in front of large, brick fireplace, a 32" TV and spacious dining area seating six, and opens to a deck that wraps around the front and side of the home, with a serene view of the forest. The kitchen has bar seating and a view of the forest. This home sleeps six; the master bedroom features a king bed and it's entrance leading to the hot tub, the second bedroom a queen bed, and the third has another king. The remodeled bath has a Jacuzzi bath with shower. Under the deck is a separate laundry room.
Grounds:
Inn Kohutes is on a hillside with flat areas for picnic table, barbecue, and hammock under the redwood trees. Up at the top of the hill behind the house is a badminton net---what a treat to play badminton surrounded by redwood forest. There is a staircase from the driveway to the front door, but otherwise the home is all on one level.
Note: Because this property is adjacent to such a large forested area, guests must pay particular attention to fire risks: absolutely no smoking inside or outside, coals/ash from the barbecue must be emptied into a metal ashcan, and no open fires anywhere on the property.
