House: Highland Manor, with its detached studio cottage, sleeps ten. Beautifully furnished, with an extraordinary art collection, everything in this home is first class. On the lower level, the living room features a river rock fireplace, a good sound system and large flatscreen TV with VCR/DVD. The gourmet kitchen has every amenity, including a gas stove with double ovens, adjacent to a formal dining room for eight. French doors from kitchen and dining room open to the pool deck. Also on the ground floor is a bedroom with queen bed and window seat that looks out onto lawn and garden, and a bathroom with a steam room/shower. The three upstairs bedrooms have a king and two queen beds, all with gorgeous, luxury linens; the king bedroom has french doors opening to a small deck that overlooks the pool. Two of these bedrooms have their own TVs. These rooms share a beautifully tiled bathroom with shower and separate tub. From the upper floor, a glass-paned door leads to a sun deck with loungers and shaded dining set; outside stairs lead down to the pool deck. From every window there are beautiful garden and/or forest views. This home offers a printer/fax and wireless high-speed cable Internet access for those who want to stay connected.

      Cottage: Separately fenced, but just a few feet from the pool and side door to the main house is a charming detached two-story cottage with one bedroom and one bath. Downstairs the full kitchen with counter dining for two is open to the living room with wood-burning stove and flatscreen TV with built-in DVD/VCR. This room opens to a lovely deck with outdoor dining set and charcoal barbecue. The yard is completely fenced and screened from the deck of the main house. The wood-paneled upstairs bedroom suite is accessed by a ladder/stair from the living room and a steep, narrow exterior stair. This bedroom has a full bed with quality linens, its own television and a bathroom with tub/shower.

      Grounds: This lovely half an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds offers breathtaking forest views, a huge deck bathed in sunshine, and gardens for strolling and relaxing. The front yard is screened from the street by tall hedges, and includes a good-sized lawn, garden and circular driveway. The main deck, just off the kitchen/dining room of the main house and only steps from the cottage, has an in-deck 16' x 32' x 4' swimming pool, two patio dining sets, gas grill, loungers and a wisteria-surrounded hot tub. A short stair from the deck leads to beautiful gardens. Also from this deck there is a stair leading to the upper sun deck and another stair leading to the front of the house and the cottage.

      Note: Because the swimming pool is not separately fenced and is close to both the kitchen and dining room doors, we do not encourage small children at this home. Even older children will require close supervision and should be good swimmers. Rates are reduced by 10% when the pool is winterized.
