House: Grandma must have been a wealthy woman; Grandma's House (~2680sf) is top of the line in every way, with stunning decor, gorgeous architectural detail, and first class amenities. This is a spacious home in a grand style with wood paneling, hardwood floors, and radiant heating. The 31' living room features a 7' billiards table, a piano, and comfortable leather couches centered around a massive stone fireplace and 42" TV with VCR and DVD. The large, gourmet kitchen opens to a breakfast room seating six. There's also a game room with a dining table that will seat another six off the living room. With four bedrooms and four baths, this home sleeps 12. Two of the bedrooms have their own mini kitchens, TVs with VCRs, bathrooms with showers/oversized tubs, and decks leading out the garden; one has a king bed and is wheelchair accessible, the other has a queen bed. The third bedroom has a king bed and shower for two, panoramic river view, and opens to the main deck. The fourth bedroom also has a king bed, its own bathroom with shower/oversized tub, and opens to the main deck. A full size fold out futon and a single rollaway provide extra sleeping. One bedroom has an exterior wheelchair ramp, and its bathroom is wheelchair accessible. This home has wireless high-speed Internet access.

      Grounds: On one acre of prime riverfront property, Grandma's House is a complete vacation paradise with landscaped gardens, large lawn, and sandy beach. Just outside the front door, there is a large hot tub in a private gazebo on a patio with charcoal barbecue, easily accessible to the kitchen and the main deck. The main deck has two levels overlooking the gardens and river, comfortable seating and loungers, and are accessed from two of the bedrooms and the kitchen. On the lower deck, next to the lawn, there's a large, draped gazebo with dining set and insect screening. On the hillside above the lawn and next to the house, there's a gorgeous garden with a shaded dining set, more seating, and sculpture. There are a number of portable loungers and other chairs, generally grouped on the lawn. Two of the bedrooms have their own decks with table-top charcoal barbecues, adirondack chairs and garden access. Also from the lawn, a path and steps lead to the sandy beach with canoe, double kayak, and two inflatable rowboats. This beach is shared with two of our other vacation rentals. There is a portable device in the home that allows a wheelchair to wheel over the thresholds to get out onto the deck. The front entrance also has a ramp, but a wheelchair would have to be pushed up as it is rather steep.

      November through April, holidays excepted,  Grandma's House may be available as a three bedroom rental at a reduced rate.
